The Verkhovna Rada has appointed Roman Leshchenko as a new head of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food. 242 MPs supported the decision.
The online broadcast was conducted by 112 Ukraine TV channel.
"I am submitting a proposal to assign Roman Mykolayovych Leshchenko to the post of Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine ... We need an effective state policy in the field of agriculture, as well as protection of the interests of Ukrainian producers. The first step is to appoint a profile minister," stated Prime Minister Denys Shmygal during his speech.
In October 2019, Leshchenko became the Presidential Commissioner for Land Affairs. In June 2020, Roman Leshchenko became the head of the State Service of Ukraine for Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre (StateGeoCadastre).
As we reported earlier, the multi-day meeting of Ukrainian ambassadors will begin on December 17.
"On December 17-22, a conference of heads of Ukraine's foreign diplomatic missions will be held online with the participation of ambassadors, permanent representatives, and consuls general of our country abroad," the statement said.
