The Ukrainian Parliament will lift the immunity of the MPs during its working session on September 3. ZN.UA web portal reported that on August 22.
The first working day of the new convocation of the Parliament will be August 29; this is when the MPs are supposed to pass the draft law on the amendments of the respective Article of the Constitution of Ukraine (Article 80, focused on the relative immunity of Ukrainian parliamentarians).
The MPs expect to approve the draft law with the majority of votes. However, according to the procedure, during the next plenary session, the law that submits amendments to the Constitution must be upheld with at least 300 votes, which is the constitutional majority in the Parliament. So, this voting is slated for September 3.
Previously, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky claimed that lifting the parliamentary immunity will be one of the priority issues on the new Parliament's agenda.
