"I have submitted signatures for an extraordinary meeting to consider the draft Resolution on the appeal to Congress to grant Ukraine the status of a major non-NATO ally (MNNA). I emphasize that the status of MNNA does not prevent Ukraine from joining NATO. And voting for my draft in the Council will be an important sign to Russia and the world about our civilized choice. Also, granting Ukraine MNNA status will show the Kremlin that Ukraine is a key US ally in Eastern Europe," Honcharenko writes.
The parliamentarian noted that the tentative extraordinary session will take place on Thursday, September 9.
As it was reported, the Verkhovna Rada of IX convocation will begin sixth session on September 7, which should end on January 21, 2022.
