Verkhovna Rada of IX convocation opens fourth session

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine announced the opening of the fourth session of the ninth convocation. The online broadcast was provided by 112 Ukraine TV channel.

"I declare the fourth session of the Verkhovna Rada of the IX convocation open," said Verkhovna Rada Speaker Dmytro Razumkov.

According to the previously adopted resolution, the parliament will begin its work on September 1 and will work until January 22, 2021.

As we reported earlier, on August 25, an extraordinary session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine was convened.

The MPs considered a number of issues, in particular the presidential bill on amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2020" regarding the increase in the minimum wage.

As expected, the second stage will be an increase from 2021 to UAH 6 000 (209 USD), and over the next year - the minimum wage will rise to UAH 6 500 (226 USD).

Bills "On the ratification of the Financial Agreement between Ukraine and the European Investment Bank" and "On the ratification of the Memorandum of Understanding between Ukraine as the Borrower and the EU as the Lender" were also considered.
