"To approve the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine of February 1, 2021 'On sectoral special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions) against the Republic of Nicaragua', enacted by the Decree of the President of Ukraine of February 1, 2021, № 41/2021," the text of the resolution reads.

As we reported earlier, the sanctions are related to the illegal opening of the Honorary Consulate of Nicaragua in annexed Crimea.

It is worth noting that the illegal handing over of the consular patent is a major violation of the legislation of Ukraine and international law, particularly the resolutions of the UN General Assembly.
