Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has registered bills № 3476 and № 3477 that provide the creation of conditions for the production of domestic cars, buses, trucks and special equipment with electric motors in Ukraine.
The initiators of the draft laws are: independent MP Robert Horvat, MPs from Dovira Group Vasyl Petyovka and Valerii Lunchenko, independent MP Vladyslav Poliak, MPs from the Servant of the People party Ihor Kryvosheev, Mykhailo Laba, Anatoliy Kostyukh and Ivan Krulko from Batkivshchyna party.
These documents also expand the list of benefits for buyers of electric vehicles. Ukrainian citizens who will buy electric cars are provided with a temporary tax rebate on personal income tax and exemption from the fee for mandatory state pension insurance.
As we reported earlier, the demand for electric vehicles in Ukraine has shown dramatic growth in 2020. Last year, the number of registered vehicles made 7,542, with 7,012 of these being light-duty vehicles. Another 530 are commercial vehicles.
The increase in the demand has resulted in the growth of the light-duty electric car market by almost one third. The market of commercial electric vehicles grew even more - by one and a half times.
