Two of the northern Italian provinces supported the autonomy from Rome on the two Sunday referendums.

According to BBC Russian, these ones, unlike the referendum in Catalonia, are non-regulatory; however, the vote results will let the local authorities start negotiations with the capital city about granting autonomy to the regions.

The news agency added that over 2.27 million residents of Veneto said yes to autonomy, while another 2.4 million in Lombardia also chose the autonomous rule.
