The United States of America will not negotiate the rights of the Ukrainian people. This was stated by the U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker on Twitter.

“The United States cannot and will not negotiate away the rights of the Ukrainian people. Only Ukrainians can decide their future, and they have made it clear that they want their sovereignty, their territory to be part of Euro-Atlantic structures,” Volker wrote.

He assured that Ukraine can count on the full support of the United States.

Earlier,
Kurt Volker did not rule out the possible implementation of the new package of sanctions by Washington against Russia due to Putin’s order of issuance passports to Donbas citizens. Volker stated this in the interview with the Russian BBC.

“Over last five years the USA imposed a lot of different sanctions against the Russian Federation: due to the annexation of Crimea, disbanding by the Minsk agreements concerning Donbas, capturing of Ukrainian sailors in the Kerch Strait, and due to Skripals’ poisoning in Salisbury,” Volker said.

At the same time he the special representative added, that no new decisions Washington have been adopted yet.

Nevertheless, according to the report, the USA is concerned about the situation that happened, and the USA is regarding Putin’s decision as “the provocation that exactly contradicts the plan for the reintegration of these territories back to Ukraine, as stated in the Minsk agreements”.
