U.S. Vice President Mike Pence was pleased with the meeting with Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky in Warsaw on September 1 as he reported on Twitter.
“Great meeting with President Zelensky of Ukraine... to discuss security, energy, economic growth and progress of his reform agenda,” Pence wrote.
He underlined that the relationship between the U.S. and Ukraine has never been stronger than during leadership of Trump.
On September 1, in Warsaw, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky and U.S. Vice President Mike Pence discussed the upcoming visit of the Ukrainian leader to the U.S. and meeting with American President Donald Trump.
Mike Pence raised the issue of the reforms, which will be held by the new government and fight against corruption.
The parties also discussed the cooperation in the energy sphere noting the importance of the signed Memorandum on Understanding between Ukraine, Poland and the U.S.
Earlier John Bolton, the U.S. National Security Advisor stated that U.S. President Donald Trump planned to meet his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky in Warsaw on September 1. However, Trump had to cancel all international visits due to the hurricane and sent Vice President Mike Pence to Poland.
