The USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier and a bomber task force of the United States will be deployed in Iran in response to a number of escalations in the U.S. Central Command region area. This was reported on the White House website.
“In response to a number of troubling and escalatory indications and warnings, the United States is deploying the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group and a bomber task force to the U.S. Central Command region to send a clear and unmistakable message to the Iranian regime that any attack on United States interests or on those of our allies will be met with unrelenting force. The United States is not seeking war with the Iranian regime, but we are fully prepared to respond to any attack, whether by proxy, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, or regular Iranian forces,” National Security Advisor Ambassador John Bolton stated.
As it was reported earlier, the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu and the President of Russia Vladimir Putin discussed Iran’s military presence in Syria. Netanyahu’s visit to Moscow was the first since the Syrian troops have accidentally hit the Russian transport aircraft reacting to the Israeli air strike in September 2018. 15 Russian servicemen died then.
It was noted that Russia is the main international ally of the Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad, it has close ties with Iran.
