The United States will be ready to respond to Russia-initiated reduction of American diplomats in this country by the beginning of the autumn. U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said that after his meeting with Russia’s foreign minister Sergei Lavrov in the Philippines, which took place on Sunday.
According to Tillerson, the U.S. has not yet agreed what kind of measures would be taken in this regard.
As 112 International reported, in July, Russia demanded that Washington cut the number of U.S. diplomats and technical staff to 455 people; that’s how many Russian diplomats remained in the U.S. after the White House deported 35 workers of Russian diplomatic institutions in December 2016. That was the response of the U.S. government to persecutions of their diplomats in Moscow.
