The US lift the part of the sanctions against Russia if it will fulfill all Minsk Agreements, while the sanctions due to the occupation of Crimea and interference in the US presidential election will remain. Kurt Volker, the US Special Envoy to Ukraine claimed this to Echo of Moscow.
'The sanctions both European and American regard to different categories. There are the sanctions for the announced annexation of Crimea, the sanctions for the invasion in Donbas, the sanctions within the Magnitsky Law, the sanctions for the interference in the US presidential election. All these are different groups of the sanctions. The most severe sanctions imposed on Russia are for the non-fulfillment of the Minsk Agreements and if Russia leaves Donbas and the points of the Minsk Agreements are implemented we will see that the sovereignty of Ukraine is restored and we will lift the sanctions', Volker claimed.
Earlier Volker claimed that 2017 was the tougher year for Donbas and it is impossible to lift the sanctions from Russia.
