Valery Chaly, the Ambassador of Ukraine to the US thinks that the US will impose new sanctions against Russian until it withdraws the military forces from occupied Donbas and restores the territorial integrity of Ukraine as 112 Ukraine broadcasted.

‘We welcome the ‘Kremlin report’ that is the consolidated step of both the Congress, the legislative power and the administration of President Trump, the executive power. It is stated in the explanation of the US State Department and State Treasury that the bill ‘On Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions’, where Russia is mentioned, was adopted due to the Russian aggression in Ukraine and annexation of Crimea and it is obvious that the further steps also will be made’, he said.

According to Chaly, the further targeted sanctions will take place toward the people from the ‘Kremlin report and additional lists.

The Ambassador noted that the change of the position of Russia lies in the withdrawal of the troops from the Ukrainian territory, return of all hostages and detained, close of the border with the support of the international mission, in other words, ‘return to the situation when the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine will be restored.  Otherwise, not only sanctions but the whole range of measures will be imposed against Russia’.

As we reported the ‘Kremlin report’ was presented in the US Congress on January 29. It contains 210 names close to Putin’s government. The US State Treasury presented only nonclassified part of the report. Particularly, the list includes all ministers of the Russian government, heads of the presidential administration, heads of both chambers of the parliament, mayor of Moscow and governor of St. Petersburg, leading businessmen and heads of the state companies.

Later Steven Mnuchin, the US Secretary of the Treasury claimed that the US will impose more sanctions against Russian high-ranked officials and oligarchs after the release of the ‘Kremlin report’.
