If sanctions against the North Korea fail, the United States will be ready for a military solution of the conflict. Joseph Dunford, the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman said that during his working visit to South Korea, as quoted by Reuters

‘Dunford made the comments to South Korean President Moon Jae-in in a meeting to discuss recent issues including North Korean provocation, office spokesman Park Su-hyun told at media briefing,’ the news agency said.

According to the U.S. official, for the time being, Washington has been supporting economic pressure on Pyongyang; nonetheless, if that kind of policy fails, the U.S. will be ready for the military aggression.

Dunford added that the White House so far has no clear plans of how to solve the conflict on the Korean peninsula with the military means.
