The United States will not leave Ukraine without assistance if Russia goes for another wave of escalation in this country. Andriy Yermak, the head of Office of the President of Ukraine said so at a briefing after the meeting between Ukrainian and American leaders.
"America claims it would not let any Russia-designed escalations against Ukraine happen, and it is ready for quite serious steps. The U.S. are telling this to us and the Russian Federation. Once again, we have heard that in case of any escalations, God forbid, Ukraine will not remain without U.S. help", RBC-Ukraine cited Yermak.
The official cited the framework agreement in the military branch, describing it as the sign of Washington's readiness to support Ukraine.
Earlier, Vice Prime Minister and the Minister for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories Oleksiy Reznikov supported the deployment of American anti-aircraft defense systems in Ukraine. He said so in an interview with LIGA.net.
According to the official, today, the U.S. possesses modern cutting-edge technologies, so the American AA defense systems could be useful in Ukraine, in the view of possible Russian aggression coming from Crimea.
