The US State Department urged Russia to immediately establish a ceasefire regime in Donbas and condemned militants who opened fire on OSCE SMM members on 24 February and seized their drone. It is said in a statement posted on the State Department website.

The United States noted the pro-Russian militants' refusal to comply with ceasefire  provided by Minsk agreements.

"We condemn Friday's shelling of the Special OSCE monitoring mission (SMM) and seizure  of unmanned aircraft by Russian separatists. It is crucial that these forces should stop attacks on civilian infrastructure, including Donetsk filtration station. We call on Russia and the separatists, which it supports, to immediately establish ceasefire regime, withdraw all heavy weapons, and ensure full and unhindered access for the OSCE observers, " said in a statement.
