US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the State Department would not publish a telephone conversation between President of the United States Donald Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky. Pompeo said this on the air of the ABC television company.
He emphasized that the content of the negotiations was confidential, and therefore it would not be revealed.
"You know that we (the State Department, - ed.) extremely rarely disclose transcripts. Conversations of world leaders are confidential. It is inappropriate to behave this way except in some extreme circumstances," Pompeo emphasized.
Earlier it was reported that the US Congress requires the administration of US President Donald Trump to provide a transcript of the conversation between the US leader and Ukrainian President on July 25.

The Wall Street Journal, citing its sources, reported that President Trump repeatedly put pressure on the President of Ukraine during the July telephone call to conduct an investigation into Joe Biden’s son.
In June and August, Rudolf Giuliani met with senior Ukrainian officials about the prospect of an investigation. Trump's lawyer believes that Biden, while working as vice president under Obama, tried to defend the Ukrainian gas company associated with his son Hunter from an investigation.
In addition, in August, the New York Times reported that Giuliani spoke on the phone and held a personal meeting in Madrid with a senior Zelensky representative to encourage Ukraine to investigate a potential conflict of interest related to the Biden family.
The Ukrainian side this year stated that it has no evidence of wrongdoing on the part of Joe Biden or his son Hunter Biden.
