US Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker intends to visit Moscow (Russian Federation) to meet with presidential aide Vladislav Surkov. This was stated by US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson at a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Manila, TASS reported.
As noted, talking about the results of the meeting with Tillerson, Lavrov stressed that the US Secretary of State had confirmed Volker's intention to visit Moscow.
"We spoke on the issues of the Ukrainian crisis, recalled that both the US President and the Secretary of State promised us that the US special representative for the Ukrainian settlement Volker will arrive in the near future. Rex Tillerson confirmed that such contact with our representative Vladislav Surkov is planned and will take place soon, "he said.
Lavrov added that, in Moscow's opinion, it would be interesting, since Volker already visited many capitals.
