The United States has claimed its readiness to provide help with creating the Crimean Platform initiated by Ukraine. This was announced by Chargé d'Affaires of the United States in Ukraine Kristina Kvien during a meeting with First Deputy Minister Emine Dzhaparova on October 26, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reports.
Kvien stressed that the US position set out in the Declaration on Crimea, promulgated by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, remained firm and unchanged.
"Crimea is part of Ukraine, and the United States will never recognize Russia's attempts to annex it," the statement said.
Dzhaparova thanked the United States for supporting Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, its unwavering stance on Russia's aggression in Donbas, the illegal occupation of Crimea, and its support within international organizations.
As we reported earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that persons who had surrendered Crimea without a fight should be held responsible.
