US Senator McCain said he thinks Russian President Vladimir Putin is “the premier and most important threat, more so than ISIS.” He said this during his interview for ABC agency.
“I think ISIS can do terrible things, and I worry a lot about what is happening with the Muslim faith, and I worry about a whole lot of things about it,” McCain said.
“But it is the Russians who are trying, who tried to destroy the very fundamental of democracy, and that is to change the outcome of an American election…I view Vladimir Putin who has dismembered Ukraine, a sovereign nation, who is putting pressure on Baltic nations, I view the Russians as the far greatest challenge that we have,” said McCain, who serves as chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee.
Earlier it was reported that McCain called Putin "thug and murderer", while Lavrov was labeled "propagandist". American senator announced that Lavrov is "the stooge of a thug and a murderer", noting that Foreign Minister "had no business in the Oval Office".
