U.S. Senate supports allocating $250 million to Ukraine for defense

The U.S. Senate’s House of Representatives supported allocating $250 million to Ukraine for the security and defense as Ukraine’s Embassy to the United States reported on Facebook.

The document includes major fundamental provisions of the bill on "Cooperation with Ukraine in the cyber-security sphere", which in particular provides for strengthening defensibility against cyber attacks, securing governmental computer networks, reducing dependencies on Russian informational and communicational technologies, aiding in participation in information exchange programs," reads the message.

The State Department was authorized to give the Congress a report on status of cooperation with Ukraine in the sphere of cyber-security to search for the new directions of the interaction and support.

The Law on "U.S. budget for 2019 for the national defense needs" shall come into force after the President signs it.

Earlier, the U.S. Congress supported the allocation of $250 million to Ukraine. It was also reported that the UK will allocate $42.6 million to Ukraine for the humanitarian aid and increase of the defense capacity.
