US Senate approves Nikki Haley as UN representative

She will replace Samantha Power, who has been in office since 2013

US Senate voted to approve Nikki Haley, who is US President Donald Trump’s nominee for the position of American representative to UN as an ambassador.

This was reported by Associated Press.

96 out of 100 senators voted for her candidacy. Only four senators voted against.

Republican Haley is the current South Carolina Governor. She is a daughter of immigrants from India.
