The upper house of the US Congress - the Senate - voted in favor of the $ 740 billion National Defense Appropriation Act (NDAA). It was reported by Reuters.
The National Defense Authorization Act, or NDAA, has passed the U.S. Congress for 59 straight years. It defines the policy of the US Department of Defense and regulates everything related to it. The law also includes items of expenditure such as military aid to Ukraine.
Since the measure passed the House by a similarly large margin, backers of the bill hope that Trump can be persuaded to change his position.
Last week, US President Donald Trump announced that he would veto the $ 740 billion National Defense Appropriation Act (NDAA).
He called the law involving internet companies, known as Section 230, a form of “corporate welfare” and “a serious threat to our National Security & Election Integrity.”
