US sectoral sanctions against Russia come into force

The changes relate to the amended Ukraine and Russia-related Directives 1 and 2

The United States Department of the Treasury claimed that the sanctions against the energy and banking sectors of Russian economy imposed due to the aggression of Russia against Ukraine came into force. It is reported at the official website of the department.

‘The changes relate to the amended Ukraine and Russia-related Directives 1 and 2 that were issued on September 29, 2017’, the message said.

The restrictions imposed on the terms of the financing of the Russian companies that stay under the sanctions of the American judicial and physical persons and from the American territory.

The Russian companies of the energy sector will be able to get the credit only for 60 days instead of the current 90 and the companies of the financial sector will get the credit only for 14 days instead of the current 30.

Earlier, Rex Tillerson, the US State Secretary of State claimed that the sanctions will be kept until the complete fulfillment of the Minsk Agreements by Russia.
