FEMA agency scrapped 45 Russian artificial lung ventilators (AVLs) that were brought to the United States within humanitarian aid campaign, which took place in March 2020. BuzzFeed News reported that on October 20.

FEMA staff received the devices on April 1 and distributed them among hospitals in New York and New Jersey. The devices were never used for treatment, as medical staff faced problems using them in hospitals. And now, these devices are, in fact, written off.

The assistance from Russia came in March, when President Donald Trump turnefd to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin for help. In turn, Russian government sent 45 devices and other medical equipment in boxers with words "From Russia with love" on them.
