Researchers of Washington university in Seattle and workers of Humans Biomed SA detected an antibody, which can be used for effective treatment of viruses, including SARS-CoV-2 and its strains. Medical Xpress reported that on January 11.

S2K146 was synthesized from B-cells of a person who recovered from Covid-19. Like other antibodies inducted with the vaccines against SARS-CoV-2, it targets the virus spike protein and provides protection against the infection.

Experts on Syrian hamsters showed that a certain concentration of S2K146 completely suppresses the replication of the virus in lungs.

According to Medical Xpress, the antibody neutralizes SARS CoV-2 and its variants in lab conditions, provides protection from infection within the tests involving animals; it could possibly prevent the virus from avoiding the antibody by mutating.
