The United States of America is preparing additional responses to the "harmful actions" of the Russian Federation. This was announced by White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan at a briefing.
"He (US President Joe Biden - ed.) chose a tough policy towards Russia, which includes working with the Europeans to punish Navalny's poisoning and preparing additional responses to other harmful actions that Russia has taken," Sullivan said.
Earlier, the United States threatened Russia with a second round of sanctions in connection with the poisoning of opposition leader Alexei Navalny.
In 2017, Russia announced the completion of the elimination of its chemical weapons. However, Washington accuses Moscow of implementing an undeclared program of developing chemical weapons and storing stockpiles of toxic substances.
In January of this year, the United States imposed sanctions on 7 Russian officials in connection with the case of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny.
In addition, the US State Department added to the list of anti-Russian sanctions six organizations that Washington considers involved in the poisoning of Navalny.
