The U.S. plans to impose personal sanctions against Russia due to the poisoning of Russian opposition politician Alexei Navalny as Deutsche Welle reported.

The sanctions will concern people who were involved in the poisoning of Navalny and tried to conceal the attempt.

The group of the American senators from both parties presented the bill that offers the sanctions against Russian officials. According to the bill, the administration of the U.S. president would be obliged to determine whether or not Moscow violated the laws on ban of the chemical and biological weapon.

According to the check, the U.S. president should provide the congress with a report about former and current officials of Russia who are involved in the poisoning of Navalny. The assets of these people will be frozen in the U.S.; they will also be banned from entry to the U.S.

Besides, the bill provides the preparation of the report about ‘personal well-being of Vladimir Putin and his entourage gathered through corruption practice’.

On August 20, Russian opposition politician Alexei Navalny was urgently hospitalized during his return to Moscow from Tomsk. He felt bad during the flight and the plane was urgently landed in Omsk. Alexei Navalny was put on a ventilator. Later, the doctors reported that Navalny was not poisoned. The head physician claimed that his metabolism has been impaired.

On September 2, a special laboratory of the Bundeswehr has conducted a toxicological test using samples from Alexei Navalny and came to the conclusion that the Russian politician was poisoned with a substance of neuro-paralytic agent from the Novichok group.

On September 23, Navalny was discharged from the hospital of the German Charité clinic.
