In 2018, U.S. government could grant Ukraine 500,000 dollars to purchase lethal weaponry for fighting pro-Kremlin separatists in Donbas. The U.S. Armed Forces Senate Committee approved the draft defense budget for the next year.

The Committee also offers to allocate 65 million dollars for development of ground-based short-range missiles. Another 4.5 billion dollars will be assigned for the European Initiative of Restraint, the project aiming to boost the combat capability of the Baltic States and to cease possible spread of the Russian aggression in this part of Europe.
