The U.S. Treasury of the State cancelled the sanctions against three companies tied to the Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska. The list includes US Rusal plc, En+ Group plc and JSC EuroSibEnergo.
According to Bloomberg, the enterprises agreed on 'unprecedented transparency for the U.S. Treasury of the State by implementing comprehensive and stable requirements for the audit and certification'.
At that, the U.S. restricting activities against Deripaska himself continue; his assets remain blocked.
The decision to lift the sanctions was made in spite of the Democrats' decision to keep the imposed limitations on the said companies effective.
Earlier, New York Times reported that Deripaska was offered assistance in obtaining an American visa in exchange for information on Russian organized crime and possible assistance of the Russian Federation in the Trump election campaign.
From the businessman, the FBI demanded to tell whether his former business partner, ex-head of Donald Trump's campaign headquarters, Paul Manafort, was the link between the electoral headquarters and the Kremlin.
