Russia thinks that the American law, which defines non-recognition of the sovereignty of the Russian Federation over Crimea as the policy of the U.S., will not have any real consequences as Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev reported on Facebook.

“The approval of the law, which bans the U.S. to recognize Crimea as Russian by Congress House of Representatives, of course, will not have any consequences either for the real status of crimes or the international environment around it. But such a goal was not put. The majority of the acts of the American lawmakers on Russia are adopted only for the internal use,” Kosachev said.

He is sure that “if Congress is forced to ban the recognition of Crimea as Russia for purpose, it means that, firstly, such possibility is not hypothetical anymore and, secondly, they are aware that Crimea can be considered Ukrainian only in the senseless attacks not in the reality”.

“Obviously, it is the warning to Trump and allies but if it is needed and not in 2014 but in 2019, it is symptomatic,” Kosachev thinks.

He also estimated the adoption of the law as “the most large-scale violation of the human rights”.

“Moreover, this law is on the non-recognition codified by the American congressmen and consequently, on the violation of the human rights and over 2,3 million people live in Crimea and Sevastopol. Possibly, it is the most large-scale violation of the human rights enshrined in the law. The U.S. is pioneer in it,” the Russian MP noted.

U.S. Congress House of Representatives approved the draft bill, which defines the non-recognition of the sovereignty of the Russian Federation over Crimea, its airspace or waters as the policy of the U.S. on March 12.

Crimea was annexed by Russia after the illegal referendum held on the peninsula in March 2014. Earlier, the Russian military captured all strategic military objects and buildings of the key authoritative bodies. Neither Ukraine nor the rest of the civilized countries recognized the results of the referendum. A number of the European and the world countries, including Ukraine, imposed the economic sanctions against Russia.

As we reported Google corporation began to show occupied Crimea as a part of Russia for Russian users.
