Washington will not cancel or reduce penal measures against Russia. US Permanent Representative to the United Nations Nikki Haley said this in an interview with CNN, DW reports.

"There will be no reduction of pressure on Russia until it assumes responsibility for the implementation of its part of the Minsk agreements," the diplomat said answering the question about Trump's intentions to lift sanctions from the Russian Federation in the first weeks of his work as a president.

Regarding Moscow's alleged interference in the US elections, Haley said: "We are absolutely sure that Russia has interfered in the elections." According to her, the Congress is investigating this case and every effort should be made to present the facts related to it in the near future.

Concerning the article of The Washington Post about the attempts of the son-in-law of Donald Trump Jared Kushner to establish secret channels of communication with the Russian Federation, Haley stated that she did not know anything about this, adding that it was necessary to wait for concrete facts justifying this "assumption".
