US intelligence issued a report on Russia’s "intervention" in the presidential election in the United States.
"We declare that the Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered hacker attacks to influence the US elections," the document says.
According to the report, the Russian goal was to undermine the "people's faith in the democratic process in the United States" and harm the reputation of the Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and her "potential presidency." US intelligence accused the Russian government and Vladimir Putin that they "give clear preference" to the elected US president Donald Trump.
Russia acted not only with the help of hacker attacks, the report says, but as well through propaganda "funded by the state media" and work of paid bloggers and "trolls".
US intelligence agencies believe that Russia "will use the skills" obtained in the campaign during the US presidential elections to continue to influence the political process in other countries.
A message to the document states that the published report is an unclassified portion of the original, so it does not contain all the supporting information.
