The US State Department has decided to impose sanctions against 28 defense structures of Russia, China and other countries for violating US legislation on the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. The document was submitted to the site of the US Federal Register.

From the Russian structures the blacklist included the Training Center for SAM systems in Gatchina, the 18th Central Research Institute of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in Kursk, the Instrument Design Bureau in Tula, the 183rd Guards Air Defense Missile Regiment, the Scientific and Production Concern "BARL" , as well as the General Directorate of the General Staff (GRU).

The United States has established that a number of foreigners and foreign organizations are engaged in activities that are grounds for the application of restrictive measures under the law on the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

All sanctions are imposed against the defense structures of Russia, Iran, North Korea, China, as well as companies from Turkey and Saudi Arabia.

We recall, the United States accused Rosoboronexport of violating the law on the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and imposed sanctions in this regard. Sanctions will come into force on May 9 and will last two years.

As previously reported, the Kremlin and the government are preparing in advance for the fact that the US can take the most severe scenario of sanctions against Russia.

Earlier, the US imposed sanctions against 24 Russian businessmen and officials whose incomes exceed $ 1 billion. It is noted that the new sanctions relate to Moscow's possible intervention in the US presidential election in 2016.
