The U.S. House of Representatives supported the allocation of financial assistance to Ukraine in the amount of 350 million dollars. The U.S. Embassy in Ukraine reported that on Facebook.
‘The House of Representatives of U.S. Congress has approved the draft law on the state’s defense budget in 2018, which allows assigning USD 350 million for the needs of Ukraine’s national defense and security. This is just as much as the previous year’s sum allocated for that purpose,’ the message says.
The draft law also allows the U.S. government sending lethal defensive weaponry to Ukraine. Besides, the bill includes provisions, which let the wounded Ukrainian servicemen be treated at U.S. medical facilities; Ukrainian medics will also have the opportunity to learn and train in the U.S. Finally, the budget allows using part of the mentioned sum for the needs of the Ukrainian Navy and Air Force.
It is now up to the Senate to approve the bill; then, President Trump is to sign it.
