The House of Representatives of the U.S. Congress has adopted the bipartisan resolution by unanimous vote, which condemns the military aggression committed by the Russian Federation against Ukraine in the Kerch Strait, as Ukraine’s Embassy to the U.S. reported on Facebook.
'The document urges Russia to immediately return ships and their crews to Ukraine, stop violation of the sovereignty of the state and creation of the obstacles to the Ukrainian navigation through the Kerch Strait, which has the right to do it in accordance with the international norms and agreements,' the message said.
The resolution confirms the commitment of the U.S. to provide the Ukrainian people with political, economic and security aid necessary for the provision of its independence, democratic development and prosperity. Separately, it contains the urge to the U.S. President and allies and partners of the United States to force Russia to be held accountable for the continued aggression against Ukraine.
The document also mentionst multiple violations of the international norms and agreements by Russia by continued aggression against Ukraine, systematic non-observance of the Minsk Agreements by Russia and increasing of the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, particularly, through the militarization of the Sea of Azov and blocking of Kerch Strait despite the international law and agreements.
Earlier, the House of Representatives unanimously adopted the resolution, which stands against completion of the Russian gas pipeline “Nord Stream 2”.
