U.S. Secretary of Energy Rick Perry denied the pressure on Ukrainian leadership in staff changes in top management of Naftogaz, as Politico reported.

“Energy Secretary Rick Perry on Monday denied that he pressed the Ukrainian government to put two U.S. businessmen on the board of the state energy company,” the message said.

However, Perry admitted that he provided guidance to Ukrainian state gas company Naftogaz but assured that he did it on the request of the government of Ukraine.

Earlier we reported that a group of businessmen affiliated with Donald Trump’s lawyer Rudolph Giuliani wanted to change the top management of Naftogaz of Ukraine.

As we reported earlier, the scandal phone conversation between U.S. President Donald Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zrelensky could happen upon the request of Minister of Energy Rick Perry, as Axios informs.

Trump said to the Republicans he made the call to Zelensky at the instance of Perry. The U.S. President assures he did not want to call to the President of Ukraine, as the anonymous sources from the Chamber of Representatives inform.
