U.S. Charge d'Affairs in Ukraine William Taylor refused to comment on information on the stay of lawyer of U.S. President Donald Trump and ex-Mayor of New York Rudy Giuliani in Kyiv as Ukrainian News reported.
“I cannot,” he answered on the request to confirm the proper information.
Answering the follow-up question whether it means that information is false or that Taylor has no knowledge or that he does not want to confirm it, the ambassador said “No comment”.
Earlier the mass media reported that Rudy Giuliani, U.S. President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer, met with former Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko on December 4. He visited Kyiv on Thursday to meet with Ukrainian prosecutors Konstantin Kulyk and Viktor Shokin.
The goal of Giuliani's visit to Hungary and Ukraine is to provide Trump’s supporters with new materials to undermine the House of Representatives' impeachment inquiry and, eventually, the Senate trial.
