After the leading American media - CNN, NBC, ABC, Associated Press - announced that Joe Biden is the winner of the presidential election, hundreds of his supporters gathered near the White House to celebrate outside a security fence erected before election day, Deutsche Welle reports.
According to NBC New York, New Yorkers came to Times Square to celebrate Biden's presidential victory.
Meanwhile, Fox News reported that pro-Trump demonstrators, some armed, gathered in state capitals across the country on Saturday after forecasts showed former Vice President Joe Biden won the 2020 presidential election.
The rallies took place when President Trump refused to admit defeat and vowed to challenge elections in a number of hesitating states through the courts.
Some of the demonstrations were held under the slogan "Stop Theft". Activists protested against what they believed could be a potential sign of vote-rigging.
As we reported earlier, Joe Biden has already outlined his first step in a new political status. In particular, he intends to take measures in the fight against coronavirus.
On Monday, November 9, Biden plans to present an expert council that will develop a plan to combat the pandemic. This body will be formed even before the names of the members of the new government are announced. According to CNN, the expert council will consist of 12 members.
