The U.S. draft defense budget for 2020 stipulates that the White House will assign 250 million dollars for the needs of defense and security of Ukraine. This is mentioned in the message of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine on Facebook.

According to the draft document, the sum is supposed to cover 'the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the national security forces of Ukraine, so as to replace any weaponry and defense purpose goods already provided to Ukraine by the U.S.'

Compared with the budget request in 2019, the offered sum of assistance for Ukraine has been increased for 50 million dollars.

Further, the budget request should be discussed in the U.S. Congress, where amendments and additions could be made. Thus, the real volumes of assistance for Ukraine will be known after the document undergoes the entire due procedure.
