Humanitarian supplies do not reach the besieged areas of the city, - spokesman John Kirby

The Moscow-initiated ‘humanitarian breaks’ in the area of Syrian Aleppo are not efficient due to the lack of access of humanitarian supplies there. John Kirby, the spokesman of the U.S. Department of State said this as quoted by Ukrinform agency.

‘Why would one offer such humanitarian break? It is for the people to leave the combat area and let the others receive the humanitarian assistance. How many people received it? Nobody,’ Kirby said.

According to him, Aleppo residents suffer from starvation and the complete lack of drinking water. The hospitals were moved to basements, they are badly undermanned and undersupplied.

‘So, when it comes to discussing about the effectiveness of these humanitarian breaks, you’d better talk to Russians. But the Syrian people, especially Aleppo residents, will not feel better, of course,’ Kirby said.
