The U.S. and its allies are considering the possibility of complete isolation of Russia from the world financial system in case of the invasion of Ukraine. Both the Russian business and the population of the country will feel the consequences of this crusade, said Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland.

"We talked about measures to fully isolate Russia from the world financial system, with all the consequences for Russian business and people," Nuland said during a hearing in the Senate.

According to her, Russia's disconnection from the global financial system will affect the opportunities for Russian businesses and people to travel and trade, as well as to work. Nuland added that sanctions on Russia will be imposed on a rolling basis.
