The House of Commons of the U.S. Congress supported the allocation of 250 million dollars to support Ukraine in the defense and security area; the money will be assigned from the 2019 U.S. defense budget. The respective draft bill was approved on Thursday.
The overall sum is 100 million dollars more than that offered by the Committee in this fiscal year.
The document features basic provisions of the draft law on the cooperation with Ukraine in cybersecurity issues. According to the Ukrainian embassy in the U.S., it foresees the active support of Ukraine's cybersecurity and cutting the dependence on Russian information and communication technologies.
The U.S. draft defense budget for 2019 is yet to be coordinated with the version approved by the Senate, and then it should be passed - once again - by both chambers of the Congress. Then, it will be submitted for President Trump's signature.
