The House of Representatives of the U.S. has started to consider the impeachment of President Donald Trump as CNN reported.
“The House convened around 9 a.m. ET, and lawmakers are currently having their first debate, which revolves around the rules governing the impeachment article,” the message said.
The congressmen will consider the resolution on Trump’s impeachment. This document accuses the current president of ‘inciting a rebellion’ for the role in unrests in the U.S. and storming of the Capitol that led to the death of five people.
It is expected that the discussion would last about an hour and the House of Representatives would vote according to the rules and would proceed to two-hour debates.
As we reported earlier, US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said the House would move forward on Monday with a resolution calling on Vice President Mike Pence and the cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment and wrest the powers of the presidency. She called on Mr. Pence to respond “within 24 hours” and indicated she expected a Tuesday vote on the resolution.
