The House of Representatives of U.S. Congress has approved the law on budget assignations in 2018. This law stipulates that Ukraine will get 620.7 million U.S. dollars of financial assistance. This is mentioned in the Facebook post of the press service of Ukraine's embassy in the U.S.
The amount of the aid to Kyiv grew considerably, compared with that of the previous year. Specifically, the expenses for Ukraine's defense and security increased by 50 million dollars, and now it makes 200 million. The said funds will go to cover the needs of particular projects, such as training servicemen, provision of military vehicles and equipment, defense lethal weaponry, logistical services and the reconnaissance support.
Before the consolidated law takes effect, it needs the approval by the Senate and the House of Representatives, and then it should be signed by President.
U.S. leader Donald Trump signed the country's 2018 defense budget in December 2017. The document, in particular, foresees that Ukraine would get 350 million dollars of financial aid for the needs of national security and defense, which also includes the provision of defensive lethal arms.
