The cyber command of the United States of America carried out a counter cyber attack on the Iranian spy group that supported the assault on the oil tankers. This is reported by Yahoo.

The espionage group that was attacked is reportedly linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and has been monitoring the military and civilian vessels that follow the Strait of Hormuz through the Internet over the past years.

At the same time, the US National Security Council declined to comment on the Iranian espionage group, and Cyber Command was unable to promptly provide information.

Pentagon spokeswoman said they are not discussing cyberspace operations, intelligence, or planning of such acts.

Earlier, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reported through the Iranian news agency that it shot down an American reconnaissance drone Global Hawk in the south of the country, in the Hormozgan province.

On June 20, US officials confirmed that the Navy MQ-4C Triton drone was indeed shot down, but in international airspace over the Strait of Hormuz by the Iranian ground-to-air missile.
