Representatives of the U.S. and Canada asked the Russian government to make efforts so that the preparation works to the 'local election' in Donbas cease. The officials said that as quoted by Ukrinform.

'We condemn the statement about the so-called 'elections' that are to be held in the militant-controlled areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions on November 11. Such 'election' would be a violation of Minsk agreement since they should be taking place in line with the Ukrainian law, OSCE standards and under ODIHR monitoring'. They will be just as legal as the so-called 'referendum' in Crimea in 2014, held under the Russian machinegun barrels', Natasha Cayer, the Canadian representative said during the OSCE session.

The Ukrainian side condemns the intentions of Russian militants to hold the 'local election' in Donbas in November, as it contradicts the Ukrainian law and international legal framework.
