The US is close to completing a series of deals to sell to Saudi Arabia US arms and related equipment worth more than $ 100 billion, Reuters reports citing a senior White House official.
The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that within a decade the weapons package could eventually exceed more than $ 300 billion value.
According to him, the agreement aims to help Saudi Arabia increasing its defense capabilities while maintaining the military superiority of US ally Israel.
"We are in the final stages of a series of agreements," the official said.
The development of a package of agreements coincides with the visit of Trump to Saudi Arabia.
Trump will visit the kingdom on May 19, this will be his first stop among the planned international visits.
