U.S. Department of the State offers Ukraine condolences due to the recent murder of Ukrainian medic in Donbas, as Russian mercenaries continue to attack positions of Ukraine's government forces there. Mike Pompeo, the Secretary of the State said this during the briefing released by the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine on Facebook.
The official expressed solidarity with the Ukrainian people in conditions of ongoing Russian aggression.
Pompeo also paid tribute to all Ukrainians who died and sustained wounds "in the fight for democracy".
Earlier, the EU pointed out that Russia breached Minsk and Normandy agreements by killing Ukrainian medic in Donbas.
As we reported, the body of Dmytro Krasnohrud, the commander of reconnaissance force of the 93rd Detached Mechanized Brigade is now on the territory controlled by Ukraine. Press office of the Joint Forces Operation HQ reported that on July 17.
"Currenty, preparations are underway for the burial ceremony to take place. The farewell ritual will be performed tomorrow, July 17, at 11.00 a.m., in the central shrine of Lyman town, Donetsk region", reads the message.
On July 13, commander of a reconnaissance force sustained lethal wounds after contact with an explosive device. The incident took place near Zaitsevo, Donetsk region. The Ukrainian side and Russian militants agreed to hold the ceasefire as Ukrainian troops were going to evacuate the body of the deceased. The enemy breached the deal and opened fire from heavy machine guns. A Ukrainain medic who tried to get the body of his comrade was killed in action himself.
