The US begins to withdraw the troops from Iraq as Associated Press reported citing the representatives of the coalition.

'American troops have started to draw down from Iraq following Baghdad’s declaration of victory over the Islamic State group last year', the agency reported.

Two Iraqi officials confirmed that the coalition headed by the US and Iraqi government reached an agreement on the withdrawal of the troops for the first time after the beginning of the war against Islamic State three years ago.

According to one senior Iraqi official, 60% of the American troops will be withdrawn fro Iraq. 4, 000 U.S. soldiers out of 8, 900 will stay in the country to continue the training of the Iraqi military.

As we reported Donald Trump, the President of the US claimed that the coalition against ISIS has recaptured most of the territory of Iraq and Syria.

The militants of the ISIS entered Iraq in 2014 and occupied third part of the country, including such cities as Mosul and Tikrit in a few weeks. The release of the conquered territories began in 2016. the Islamic State lost the control over the last city in Iraq in November 2017.
